It's rare when the back half of the album is better than the front half, but that is what I feel about this album. The last two songs are probably the best on the album. There is a Light That Never Goes Out is a classic.

I like the lyrics and his delivery style which seems to be a let down for some people. but i think there isn't much going on music-wise which makes listening the whole album in one sitting kind of boring.

This album is special because it is far more artistic than it lets on initially. Morrissey is one of the most gifted songwriters in history, and this album is full of his trademark humor, introspection, juxtaposition, and non sequitur.

I'm not a fan of their slow, downbeat music but this album has some great upbeat stuff like boy with the thorn.. and there is a light..

It took me a while to like this album but ended up loving it. All their albums are good but this is the most consistent. I know Its Over, There Is A Light, and Bigmouth Strikes Again are the standouts.

Most consistent studio album by the Smiths, features some of their greatest tracks like There Is A Light, I Know Its Over, Frankly Mr Shankly and Cemetry Gates(Not to mention the two singles and the force of nature that is the title track)
