Great album. It begins the trilogy of Stevie's finest albums. Delights me every time

I really prefer Innervisions, but this is pretty good too.

This is an album that predates me, with hits so overexposed as to seem ordinary but I know that I would have loved this in the right context. He is definitely a Wonder.

A landmark album, one of the many iconic art pieces that Stevie Wonder created in the 70s. Superstition is an all-time wonder that belongs in a canon of the ages. However, this more than any other Stevie Wonder album seems overplayed. Superstition, Sunshine, and I Believe have been piped over store speakers, elevators, waiting rooms, etc... Kind of ruins it... This would sound better if it was lost for a few years and rediscovered.

Stevie's R&B ballads are a smooth and soothing as the keyboards backing opening track "you are the sunshine of my life", as funky as the wavering bass of "maybe your baby" (although the song goes on a bit long). And how about those funky horns of "superstition" and how stevie lets loose? i like the laid-back, soulful sweetness of "lookin' for another pure love". My first memory of "i believe (when i fall in love)", the third hit off this album, is george michael's cover, but Stevie's version is more organic and doesn't overdramaticize at the end.

Some of Stevie's songs I think we know too well, through over play, and so it's hard to see the originality, and excellence that they had at the time... perhaps you'd call them Mona Lisa tracks. You Are the Sunshine of my life being one of those, which would have scored higher for me on merit, but I've just heard it so many times over the years it's almost painful to hear again.

Deserves a spot in my top 40 just for Superstition alone. Great album.
