Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 35.4/100, a mean average of 31.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 31.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 27.9.

Silver Side Up was such a success that Nickelback made it again and called it The Long Road. Little did we know they would do this again for two more albums.

All vary in their own Nickelback way in successes and failures. This was a decent re-hash if you like the band already,

One truly stand out track in Should've Listened. A really good break up song.

Figured You Out is as clever as Nickelback gets in its never ending set of trashy sex songs.

Someday is literally How You Remind Me. Like, literally. Some dude on the interweb proved it by playing them simultaneously.

Flat on the Floor punches well enough to be interesting and short.

The rest of this is garbage. See You At The Show is the most cliché rock song I think ever made. So. Friggin. Bad.

Silver Side Up is decent because it's Nickelback doing their sound before they knew it would be so popular. All the Right Reasons to follow refines that sound and does it best.

Everything else from Nickelback LP wise is trash. Each album MIGHT have a song or two worth keeping around. Dark Horse certainly doesn't.

I've heard all of Nickelback's records and this one is my favorite. "Figured You Out" is a song with a simple but genius chord progression about loving and hating a girl at the same time. All of the songs are catchy and have easy to relate to subject matter. The rhythm of the guitars in this record is very unique, esp in "Because of you" Chads vocals are good, although the use of pitch correction is a downer. some of the verses repeat which is too bad. Great record, music snobs can shut up cuz we are all listening to music created from the same 12 pitches anyways, this record is inspired just the same.

Not good. But not the worst ever either. Limp Bizkit? Creed? ICP? All much worse than Nickleback. Nickleback is cliche and simplistic. Could be worse.

I know it's very fashionable to hate Nickelback.... and I hate them, too, but are they really, honestly, objectively that much worse than some bands you like?

Simply put, the world would be a better place if this band never existed.

Nowhere near as bad as some music snobs will have you believe...but I prefer not listening to it.
