IrishMusichead 1 day agoThis is a reminder of, while Kid A practically opened the 2000s to an unnerving sound, this is a breather but also a nostalgia trip of some sense through what great introductions of music but also with such a defining sound can do for us. Basically Arctic Monkeys before they existed, but unlike Arctic Monkeys I don't care for their later stuff. Oh well! back on my nostalgia trip.
camshA monotonous and boring album that everyone seems to love.
Slick, fun, cool, catchy, quite brilliant.
Good but WAY overrated.
Slightly overrated, and the low fidelity brings it down, but apart from that a brilliant garage rock album, lovely underground sounding album and a modern classic.

drivebytornado 02/25/2013 22:49This album was hyped as bringing back rock n roll. I don't know that it ever left, but it certainly was an extremely influential album, as the number of "The" bands skyrocketed after this one hit. Equal credit must also be extended to The White Stripes, for sure.
This has been on regular rotation ever since I got it in early 2002, blasting tracks like "Someday" "Last Night" and "Soma" at high volume.
