The studio experiments they did during the Revolver sessions have become industry standards to this very day. Bold songwriting as well with psychedelic subject matter.
Best Beatles album and only Beatles album I like and not to mention can tolerate. This as all the classics I grew up with. Fav track is Love You To
The Beatles are my favourite band of all time, no competition (well, maybe Radiohead). This album is by far my favourite of their catalogue. It's innovative, the songs are ahead of their time and is well produced.
Whilst other Beatles albums flit in and out as current favourite, this is the one I always come back to. If it didn't have Yellow submarine on it it would probably be the best ever album.
One of their best albums top tracks 'Eleanor Rigby' & 'Tomorrow never Knows' both history in the making I also like 'She said, and your bird,Taxman.. a must have álbum
The Beatles become rock! Mixing Indian riffs with rocky and catchy tunes works, clearly.
Very Great Album,
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been stated about this masterpiece. I credit it as being the album that got me into the Beatles, along with several other 60s groups.
Listened to this album dozens of times, just don't understand the hype. Taxman pretty cool, Eleanor Rigby brilliant, I'm Only Sleeping pretty good, Love You To mediocre, Here There Everywhere mawkish, She Said She Said brilliant, Yellow Submarine okay, Good Day Sunshine okay, And Your Bird Can Sing awesome, Doctor Robert stupid, For No One excellent, I Want to Tell You slight, Got to Get You Into My Life stupid, Tomorrow Never Knows amazing.
Doesn't add up to much, doesn't cohere, nothing holding it together. A transitional album to the maturity of Sgt. Pepper.
It ranks highly on my lists largely because of it's importance and experimentation. Musically however i would rank it below Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road, and Rubber Soul. It has some fantastic moments let down by some embarrassing ones, namely Yellow Submarine which is just a nursery rhyme in my view.
