Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.1/100, a mean average of 69.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.0.

While Gutterflower can be excused for recreating what worked so well on Dizzy Up The Girl, by the time Let Love In dropped in 2006 that strategy started to seem somewhat desperate and lazy. It's perhaps no surprise that this album sounds much like the previous two ones, including the lack of variety and the absence of truly strong singles.
The greatest standout is the title track, which I've heard many times during my childhood but never realized it's a Goo Goo Dolls song. Yes, that is how average this album sounds. Most songs sound like Gutterflower leftovers. Better Days has a nice ballad feel to it, while Without You Here never lifts the way I expected it to. Give A Little Bit has a nice acoustic guitar as its centrepiece. There are some nice country vibes to some tracks, which I guess could be seen as a development in the band's sound.
