Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.7/100, a mean average of 80.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.3.

A thoroughly enjoyable and easy to listen to record that makes you want to come back and discover all the things you missed on the last listen. There is so much to discover on this record and it is also quite a positive record and really lifts you up when you hear this album. The instrumentation is fantastic on this record and really stands out amongst other prog rock work around that time. Despite this, I do not think the album as a whole can challenge with the greatest albums of the prog rock genre as it does have weaker tracks and moments where it is easy to get sucked out of the album. Definitely worth a listen and is still a great record though.

This is the most cheerful prog rock album from the 70s I've ever heard. Any other band, album, or song from around that time that I can name has an overwhelming omnipresence of bleakness (for example; King Crimson's Starless, Pink Floyd's Don't Leave Me Now, etc.). This is nice change of pace from the norm, the very atmosphere of each track driving itself forward. And, yes, Nine Feet Underground is fantastic, but I also really enjoyed every other song on here. I know this isn't some diamond in the rough I just found all by myself, but man do more people need to hear it.

I have had this on CD for several years and have been after the album on vinyl for some time. Thank you HMV record day, I now have this on clear vinyl! Nine feet underground is epic! Probably one of the best progressive album artworks of all time!

Optimistic, peaceful sunny record. You just want to go and lay in some meadow while listening to this.

Even the last track being the longest track on this, he seems to end very quickly. Great epic song.

Classic hippie rock. Underrated and overlooked, it's great stuff. The CD adds some fine bonus material too. Excellent.

Underrated for sure. Prog is not held in a high regard in BEA (and who could blame them? With all those terrible neo-prog bands anyone could get the wrong impression of the genere), but that this one is not in the top 300 is a crime. An amazing album all the way.
