Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. The first two tracks sound like Dire Straits not taking themselves so seriously, track three a touch of REM about it, track 4's a bit shit (and I like cats!), track 5 has a Talking Heads rhythm to it (not such a high quality vocal). Side two starts off with a decent couple of tracks, then quite different sounding tracks 8 (American XTC) and 9 which i enjoy (although track 9 tales off a bit). Track 10 has a bit of a C&W fell and lyric. Bought on vinyl, cheap, because of the hit single (Track 1) and to be fair that is the highlight of the album. All in all a decent album but of this kind of style and year give me the Rainmakers debut album every time.
