Not as strong as Elephant, but still a great album.
A pleasant surprise. I rather strongly prefer it to "Elephant".
While there are some amazing songs on here and I am so glad that The White Stripes could make music like this and not be shunned for making music that has been made before, I find this album kinda boring. I mean there are some solid songs, but then it just kinda peters out. Still a solid album, and probably would be even more solid if it was 10 songs instead of 16.
This is probs the strongest White Stripes album. Jack White is god at not only guitar, but all of a sudden songwritting as well. Great, great album.

jack's talents is undeniable both lyrically and musically. and this album is a showcase of his potentials.
Its good but Elephant is better.
Feels a lot like Costello's "Get Happy": the songs come quickly and hard. That's not to marginalize what the Whites did here; on the contrary, Jack shows once again just how talented a performer he truly is. Great album.
Definitely their best album.
I remember 2001... I thought the music industry was spiraling downhill... dominated by boy bands, Shaggy, Limp Biskit, Linkin Park, Staind, Creed, etc... Those were dark days indeed. When the Strokes and White Stripes burst onto the scene with their huge 2001 albums, it restored my faith in the music industry. This album is stripped down, but features great songcraft and playing. Awesome.
