It's long and self-indulgent but I guess that is part of being a rock opera. But I think it's a little too long winded for my taste and loose track of the story in places. There are some great songs here though so it's still a pretty good listen.
One of those few albums that truly feels like the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. One of the most underrated albums of all time.
This has to be the most underrated album of the '70s. Quadrophenia is The Who's masterpiece. The standard of double-album rock operas, the spectacular songwriting and performances on this album continue to put most modern rock to shame.
This is my favourite album of all time. The music is sublime, the lyrics perfectly capture what it was like being a mod in the 60s and the concept is a thing of beauty. This album has helped me get through a lot and I'm always finding new subtle things about it that I absolutely love. I don't think I will ever hear an album better than this. Perfection.
This is the Who at their best and all four members at their peak here, the best Who Opera aswell as best album of 73' don't get me wrong The Dark side of the moon is a top top album but this albums had more plays for me so it must be better ? Top tracks 5:15,Ive Had Enough,I'm One,Love Reign O'er Me
One of the best stories in a rock opera ever - simplistic yet touching. As you follow the story of Jimmy, you get closer each song, as well as the album being very good musically and lyrically.
Lots of great tunes, but a little too long and overly ambitious to succeed as an album.
It's a good thing the Who had serious chops because if a lesser talented band attempted to make something this indulgent, it would be gruesome.
The who reign over me.
I know I'm bias for saying this if you look at my chart, but how is this album not ranked higher??
Better than Dark Side of The Moon to me because it is longer, rocks harder, and dare I say has better production than the Pink Floyd album.
