Love manhattan, and revelry... Love the others aswell.
KOL go commercial although this is still their best in my opinion I like the opening track Closer & the heaviest Crawl,Sex on Fire quite clearly their most popular
One of the best albums I have ever heard. Simply great tunes.
" Only By The Night "was their big commercial breakthrough.
The raw country-fried rock formula forged on their earlier more rambunctious albums has gotten a bit more glossy, radiant and lighthearted, while still rocking out.
With unique vocals, soulful lyrics backed by breezy melodic songs, this bright, edgy, riff filled album churns out real southern flavour and originality.
This album was my first introduction to KOL and at first I loved it. Then I went back and listened to their earlier stuff and realized that unfortunately this was their weakest album, but that is a reason why they are one of my favorite bands because this album is still good, but you can tell they did go a bit too mainstream with this album. Still good guitar on many of these tracks and catchy tunes. When I first listened to the album Crawl was my least favorite song and now it is probably my favorite. Weird.
So do not judge them based solely on this album. It's ironic it is their highest rated on this site, but I feel and as most KOL fans do that their firs three albums are much better, but if you enjoy this one that's good too.
