IrishMusichead 05/17/2013 20:59This is how complex British music and song-writing can get. Riveting experience with a bunch of great anthems.
Cymro2011Grounds For Divorce is fantastic but I can't really enjoy the rest of the album.
gussteiviBeautiful harmonies, creative arrangements, great lead vocals... I like this album a lot. Favourite track is probably The Fix, but there are many contenders.
This is really nice album. It's worth to listen to :)
jhuikDay Like This is a beautiful epic but the rest, other than Grounds for Divorce, is absolutely coma-inducing.
Fav.Tracks: One day like this, Mirrorball.
sethmadsen 12/16/2011 03:13Guy Garvey's voice is amazing, and their compositions throughout the album are pieces of art. Build A Rocket Boys is a contender.
VADERBREWING 12/09/2011 02:52I like this a lot on a first listen, something good happening here. I dont quite get the Sgt Pepper comparison comment. Its driving me crazy, but they sound like some other band.
An excellent album whose greatness skews towards the starting tracks. The tracks that stand out do so very deservedly: "Mirrorball" is perfect, as is "Grounds for Divorce." "Audience for the Pope" and "Bones of You" are solid too, but the back half of Seldom Seem Kid is comparatively lacking in memorable hooks and tunes.
An Audiance with the Pope is a hell of a good song too. Way under exposed album. Sad.
