ehm, the track listing makes it hard to rate the songs. As in 2112 by Rush, Close to the Edge by Yes etc. there are titled segments within the songs. The listed songs here are titled segments, not actual songs in themselves. Personally I don't know when one segment ends and another one begins. I'd much prefer this tracklist:
1. Nervous, Sad, Poor...
2. Bleak, Ucertain, Beautiful...
Or:
1. The Dead Flag Blues
2. East Hastings
3. Providence
Depending on whether to use the LP- or cd track list

Puncture Repair 02/27/2013 21:18Sorry guys, but I feel the entire of the album is based of the first 7 minutes - which is some of the most cold, unforgiving yet beautiful pieces of music possibley ever written, but the rest is dull in compassion. Nothing else I find is remotely emotionally engaging or poignant and reaches no ultimate climax.
Sorry guys, I'd love to love this album, but there's just a whole lot of nothing to get through after such a great opener.
A post-apocalyptic journey through an acrid, desolate musical landscape, as humanity wheezes its last dying breath and the memory of our civilization echoes across the poisoned earth.

The music on this album is unique and powerful. One would be hard-pressed to find any imitators of this revolutionary musical form created by GYBE! Its origins are as much avant-classical as they are rock & roll, and the band has achieved a true synthesis of the two forms, expanding them to new boundaries. This music is inherently inexplicable, and this is its beauty.
