Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.5/100, a mean average of 76.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.1.

Prison Bound is the second album by Social Distortion, following the band's resurgence following Mike Ness' drug rehabilitation.
The record is a major improvement over the loose and sloppy debut. The punk band debuted their infamous blues, rock'n'roll, and country and western influences here, which would be streamlined on the early 90s albums on Epic Records. They lean a little too heavily on the Western influences, with Rawhide "whoops" and "yahs," but the spirited performances here make up for those moments.
The band's cover of Rolling Stones' Backstreet Girl is a highlight, as well as the excellent title track.
The band would improve at the turn of the 90s, but Prison Bound definitely pointed them in the right direction.
Average.
Condensed to a 7" Single:
A-Side: Prison Bound
B-Side: Indulgence
Incredible first half, solid enough second half, I'll give this one a 9.
