Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

An intense and fast paced adventure that never slows down on any of its tracks. You really are thrown in the deep end straight away with 2 Morro Morro Land, which is the best track on the album in my opinion, as its relentless energy really hits you just as you start the record. The rest of the album then follows suit with this to a varying degree of success with some more absolutely incredible tracks coming up such as Mega Ghost and Dead Cowboy. Both are extremely frantic and really blow me away. The highlight of this whole record for me is the drum work though as it really injects the music with its passion and drives home that energetic and crazy feel that makes the music so unique. Overall, a special experience that needs a lot of attention and energy to truly appreciate.
Mind-blowingly fast and intense. The best moments on here (2Morro Morro Land, Captain Caveman, Birdy, Mega Ghost, Dead Cowboy) are some of the most throttling noise rock I've ever heard.
As an album, it's a pretty challenging listen from front to back but as rewarding as they come. Certainly on par with "Wonderful Rainbow".
90/100
