Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.4/100, a mean average of 70.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

Aptly titled as it is Wonderful and Glorious
The production was a bit "off" for me.
No songs above an 80 here.
Not an ambitious album, but really enjoyable as many Eels albums. Not groundbreaking but there is not much you can blame this album for.
'Peach Blossom' and 'Wonderful, Glorious' are my favourites
Every time there’s a new Eels album I get a little nervous. Eels release new albums faster than most people change clothes. They released two albums in 2010 and one in 2009 which, for me, was amazing because I love these guys. But it made me nervous because I thought that there was no possible way that principal songwriter Mark Everett aka “E" could keep writing good albums. But he did. “Tomorrow Morning", “End Times" and “Hombre Loco" were all great albums. So then there’s this, “Wonderful, Glorious". And yet again, E proves that he can write music with the best of them. One of the issues I’ve had with Eels in the past, and it’s a small issue, is that when they do more upbeat rock songs, they tend to not write as good songs as their slower songs, but here E writes great rock songs and slow songs. Lyrically it’s great, a bit more optimistic than most Eels albums which is cool with me, and musically it’s excellent. I highly recommend this album, and everything else Eels have done.
an album that grows listening listening. many small pearls, put there by chance ... maybe it will be album of the year ... maybe .. but now it is soon ..
I like the sounds of Eels a lot more when they have a little oomph behind them. This sounds a lot like Steve Earle or Tom Waits. Very good effort from E in my opinion.
Wonderful, Glorious lives up to its title. I will be listening to this album alot.
