Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.7/100, a mean average of 65.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 66.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 20.0.

Not lacking in good grooves but the tracks are just too long. Almost all clocking in at 7 minutes or more, they would benefit from being cut down to the 4 or 5 minute mark. Reminiscent of mid- to late- 90s Prince.

Don't be fooled by the public persona stigma, Timberlake modern approach to R&B shows how talented this dude is.
Add to that Timbaland's producer vision and you get a very high quality collection of creations, groovy as fuck.
Tunnel Vision is perhaps the symbol of their peak.
Definitely worth your time!

Not as prolific as Love Sounds but still a good album. Pusher Love Girl, Suit & Tie, Don't Hold the Wall, Mirrors, Spaceship Coupe & Let The Groove Get In, are brilliant RnB/Pop songs JT deserves more recognition. Great sounds and experimentation, he is not to everyone's taste, his lyrics are best described as sexually explicit, but like Marvin Gaye he seems to be having a good time and there is nothing wrong with that.

Justin Timberlake still shows how ambicious he is compared to his fellow popstars collegues. This album screams for the attention that its very well deserved. Different song structures, many surprising beat changes, great production, amazing vocals, some amount of experimentation of sound and exploration of neo-soul that makes this album one of Timberlake's best. My only problem with this (and that would be nitpicking) is the lyrics, which is very basic, but in this case works fine. The songs are a little too long than an usual pop track, but the interesting instrumentation, production and beat changes is what makes this album good, what makes it work so well, even with a bunch of 7 minute tracks.

Definitely his most consistent record, however Let The Groove Get In and Dont Hold The Wall are clear examples on why people think this album is too long. The good news is that tracks like Strawberry Bubblegum, That Girl, Spaceship Coup, and Mirrors all go down as some of the best songs 2013 had to offer.

Here's a huge helpful tip if you wanted to listen to this album: listen to this album, and COMPLETELY forget that there's a sequel to it. Acknowledging its existence will not help at all, and might actually hurt the value of this album. It helps to follow the lead of the likes of Kanye and cut your album short as to not run long and diminish the whole body of work.

That aside, on any given day, Mirrors could enter my head and make me start feeling emotional all of a sudden.

I don't get it, why not keep the tracks at 3-5 minutes max, instead of dragging them out to the extent that they all outstay their welcome. It's not like he has that much to say in any of these songs, and it's not like they musically have much progression after they hit that 3-4 minute mark. This is so close to a brilliant album, but it doesn't happen because of such a baffling and unnecessary choice.
Really, I think the only song I wasn't bothered with the length, was the last one (also easily the best on here IMO), and That Girl.
