The Handshake and Pieces Of What are INCREDIBLY underrated! Love the bonfire feel of Pieces Of What and the vintage feel of The Handshake <3
The Handshake is an amazing song
"People always told me, said don't forget your roots. I know I can feel them underneath my leather boots."
Don't we all have the handshake under our toungue after all.
I saw them live a few weeks ago and Of Birds, Moons and Monsters was the encore. Show stopper. Another personal favorite.
Not trying to play hipster here, but the "great" tracks (Kids, Time To Pretend, Electric Feel) seem the weakest to me. It's tracks such as Weekend Wars, The Youth, Pieces of What and 4th Dimensional Transition which I really enjoy.
Great album. Caught me off guard.

Way inconsistent. Still decent at its worst, but those lows are amplified by how high the best songs are. Congratulations works much better as an album.
One of the greatest travesties of this site is that this album is ranked higher than Congratulations. I agree with every other comment, the three songs are great and the rest are mediocre. I cant even listen to those 3 songs anymore just because Ive grown out of them and their pop-iness. This is MGMT still trying to figure out their style and how to make it interesting. Congratulations is when they pulled their style together and created something awesome. This is pretty good, but not grand.
