Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 63.8/100, a mean average of 58.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 58.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 23.5.

Look, I’m as much of a Michael Buble fan as the next guy (assuming the next guy is a Michael Buble fan), but this album really doesn’t have much to it. Buble has made a great career off of two things: his incredible voice, and his ability to do cover songs really well. Certainly he has had originals that have been good and successful, but he routinely does a lot of covers and he does them well, usually. But on this album, the only songs that are any good are only good because they’re just good songs that he’s covering. “You’ve Got a Friend In Me" and “Who’s Lovin’ You", for example, are just good songs, and Buble sings them well, he just doesn’t do anything terribly special with them. The best song on the album comes early on with the lead single, an original, “It’s A Beautiful Day". Now I’m not saying the rest of the album is bad at all, it’s just nothing too terribly special. Nothing that stands out. Overall, a pretty mediocre album.
