Beautiful and melancholic, Waits sensibility makes this an album for the ages, I have to agree with both earler coments, although I've always been a fan of the free style in composition and structure of Waits later work, this is the album that works for me the best it just leaves you sighing while you light a new cigarette

More of Tom Waits signature cocktail rock. Great stuff. Agree with Tonagamu, his 70s piano stuff was better than the experimental 80s work that he is hailed for.

Of course artistically, Waits' better stuff was soon to come. But I happen to prefer the sound of his non drunken obnoxious, singing voice/ This makes me wish I could be in a jazz club everything I listen to it/ It's fantastic.
