Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Personally, I think it has strong tracks other than his signature song. The three opening songs are all pretty similar in terms of both quality and style (and that bombastic string intro sounds almost copy-pasted in those three songs, it's quite funny). Noteworthy especially is the crazy syncopation in the title-track's verses and the madly cheesy version of "When I Fall in Love" as album closer. Only a decade like the 1980s could something like this!
Obviously only known for "Never Gonna Give You Up", I imagine this album has other songs, good or bad I don't know.

This is hilarious, if you set "Ratings >= 5", "Never gonna give you up" is rated #127 ahead of songs by the Beatles, Stones, Arcade Fire, Nirvana, VU, Neutral Milk Hotel, Slint, Led Zeppelin< Radiohead, Pink Floyd, etc..well you get the picture...I don't hate this song but I didn't know that our members were so into adult contemporary.
