Id rank it the 4th best Van Morrison album. It seems like its not far from greatness but ultimately i dont regard it as a classic. Streets Of Arklow and Come Here My Love are the standouts for me.
lethalnezzle 12/30/2012 03:07My favourite Van Morrison album. More straightforward than Astral Weeks, but in a good way. I'm pleasantly surprised to find it in our Top 1000, as I always considered it massively overlooked. But yeah, great album. Deserves to be heard by even casual Van fans, it certainly helped convert me (more so than his fucking shite lounge soul live show anyway).
I've considered myself a huge Van Morrison fan for years but this somehow always escaped my attention until I saw its rating on this site. Thanks again BEA! This is a beautiful album!!
Listening to vans music is stepping in to his mysterious universe. This is the best example of that. So much feeling, atmosphere and images sums up something totally unique.
The first seven songs are amazing. Easily one of Van's best albums.
The pastoral Van's album. Irish like the Guinness, country, rain...... and "The Quiet Man". Great vocals, great songs. Lyrics are full of images, impressions and strongs shots. An underrated and extraordinary record.
