Waiting For The Sun comments
Comments for the album Waiting For The Sun by The Doors:
Not as good as the debut and there are a few weak tracks, but it also has some amazing songs. My favorites are Love Street and Five to One.
A quiet one... Not as noticeable as the others, but still decent work. How can a Doors album be anonymous?
The mighty underdog of the Doors releases. “Not To Touch The Earth,” “Spanish Caravan,” “Five To One” and “The Unknown Soldier” are as good as anything they ever did, not to mention “Love Street,” “Hello I Love You,” and the lesser-known “Summer's Almost Gone” and “We Could Be So Good Together,” which are nearly as good. On the flipside, “My Wild Love” is a strong candidate for worst-ever Doors song.
Prettyy solid album, but IMO only one worst is 'Soft Parade'
Kind of a mix bag for me, but mostly on the positive side. There's no bad songs per se, but there's some that aren't great on here. The truly great one's, imo, are The Unknown Soldier, Spanish Caravan, Wintertime Love, Yes the River Knows, and maybe Hello I Love You.
The other songs are quite listenable and not bad, but not the greatest quality.
better than virtually everything being released today.
A downstep from their debut, but nothing short of wonderful!
hear, hear, voluntas!!!!!!!
Known for its ballads and soft tunes like 'Hello, I Love You' and 'Spanish Caravan,' the album is an intense surprise. Waiting has Morrison's most rebellious anthems; 'Unknown Soldier,' 'Not to Touch the Earth' and the powerful 'Five to One,' and shouldn't be just a step between The Doors and Morrison Hotel, but a staircase.
