If You Buy this expecting a "rock album" or a doors album you may well be disappointed. There are bits of Doors music interspersed throughout Jim Morrison's poetry, which a lot of snooty poets will turn their noses up at.
But whatever the quality of his poems, the result of that mix creates a great effect- a mesmeric album to put on if your feeling meditative, or just plain stoned.
Like the War of the Worlds album, not strictly a popular music album, but maybe just... a work.
