Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Time has passed since my first comment... it is indeed a grower. Not one of his best though.

This one is a grower it keeps getting better. Prince uses an updated sound and has some excellent songs like Art Official Cage, Clouds, Breakdown, The Gold Standard, Breakfast Can Wait and Funknroll.
Give this one another spin. Try and separate it from Plectrum Electrum, which was just okay.
This is a fantastic record.
