I've always been a little annoyed that they called the opening track Intro. For such a fantastic opener you think they would've given it a name that was a little bit more creative.

One of the best albums of the last decade. Very minimalistic but so beautiful. Catch this band live
onealsmEverything about it is uninspired. The xx clearly go for a single sound here and do not reach out of their comfort zone. I'm not one to complain about singing voices that often, but the two singers here sound close to whispering, they sound so unconfident. If I were to explain this album in one word, it would be "pedestrian".
Mercurydylan89 02/17/2013 01:23Way overrated in my opinion. The beats and tracks are great like everyone has said. Really simple, laid back, grooving. The tracks are like a 8. But the vocals are so annoying to me. The girls voice just sounds so prototypical, and the dude just doesn't sound like he has any personality, just like the girl. The lyrics just strike me as very pseudo-intellectual, not real. The vocals are like a 3. So I vote , as of now, a light 6 for the record.

This album is fucking incredible!!! definitely deserves to be one of the Best of 2009 albums. Dream Pop at its absolute finest
Great for a debut album. It creates a pretty nice atmosphere around you when you listen to it. Calm but not boring. Crystalized, VCR are amazing, as are most of the album tracks.
Minimalistic and brilliant. Best tracks: Crystalised, Islands, Night Time.
