Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 55.8/100, a mean average of 54.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 54.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 20.9.

This album could've been so much better. These songs were meant to be classic guitar-driven FOB tracks, while I still enjoy plenty of track on this album (The Kids aren't alright, novocaine, jet pack blues, centuries) Those songs have unnecessary flaws. Like those radio friendly oh ohs and woahs that could've easily been replaced by guitars to make them way better. For example, Uma Thurman, in my eyes, is an almost perfect song, but that stupid Munsters sample annoys the crap out of me. The moments where this album shines are in the more anthemic moments like the dark vocals and bass in Novicaine or the "HEAVY METAL BROKE MY *DRUM DRUM* HEART!!!" and the kids are alright is an amazing ballad, jet pack blues is almost great as well but the verse is so boring which is a shame cause the chorus is one of my favorite moments on the record. So yeah, it's no Folie A deux and it does make me a bit sad knowing what this album could've been if they'd stuck with their roots but hey, I still enjoy it.
Probably my least favorite Fall Out Boy album, but I still find it much better than most of what I hear playing on the radio. Pete Wentz's lyrics are probably at their worst here. The sound as well as the album length makes me feel as if this effort was simply rushed through.
Favorite Song: The Kids Aren't Alright
Least Favorite Song: Jet Pack Blues
For reference I rank the albums Folie a Deux > Infinity on High > From Under The Cork Tree > Save Rock and Roll > Take This To Your Grave > American Beauty/American Pscyho.
For me, I like this a lot better than Save Rock and Roll. While the production is still fairly messy, and lyrically it can be a little awkward at points, the song uses some pretty decent samples and creates some fun tunes in the process.
Favourite songs: Centuries, Uma Thurman, Fourth of July
Least favourite song: Favorite Record
