Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.9/100, a mean average of 76.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.9.

I really wish the rapping would compliment the dark production better.

Love Earl Sweatshirt. Banging album
I really love the vibe on this album. It's not grandiose, but sincere and moody. People might call it too short, but when listening it doesnt really feel to short (though I do love it so much that I woudn't say no to more). It feels much more concise than short; he whittles away all the excesses of hip-hop, making songs of just a dark repetitive sample and no hook, yet its engrossing in a way thats hard to describe. All the songs are glued together by small interlude bits, that just get catchier and more intriguing the more you listen. Everything about this album just keeps improving every time I listen to it. This small, unassuming, dark, and almost anti-commercial album is a masterpiece of hip-hop. In my eyes its a close one between this and Steven Wilson's "Hand Cannot Erase" for AOTY for 2015.
90/100
I love the album's raw sound. I wish it was a bit longer, but I'm happy nonetheless.
Favorite tracks: Huey, Faucet, Off Top, Inside, Wool
Least favorite track: Grief

brooding, one of the most raw albums I've ever heard similar to plastic ono band in this regard, not many artists can convey emotion with such vigor and clarity a highly underrated effort in my opinion
Dope album, very dark and weird for most, if not all of it. Found some parts a bit boring too but it's not a long album so id say it's a solid 8/10
Nice beats, very dark and moody, but the lyrics are too personal, he's just telling things about him with little bigger meaning behind it.
FIRE. ABSOLUTE FIRE.
