Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.4/100, a mean average of 74.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.8.

Some songs drag on/get a bit repetitive with their hooks, but when the album hits it hits. Multi-Love is one of the best psych pop songs of all time. The other obvious best tracks, Can't Keep Checking My Phone and Necessary Evil, are also great, and Puzzles is a great way to end the album. It drags you out of the chilled, funky mood set by the last 8 tracks and slaps you with reality. The concise tracklist means that very few, if any, of the songs here feel like filler.
8.5/10
It's a really neat sound. It's like bubble gum pop meets modern techno and low-fi indie. It's a strange focus lyrically (his wife falling in love with another woman) but it works to create something outlandish enough to match the music. Well done.
Other albums on this top 10 are either records that I can only listen to occasionally or were formative on my muical coming-of-age, but this album is the one I can just put on whenever and jam out to it.
Ruban Nielsen is a deceptively brilliant songwriter and guitarist and while UMOs three-albums do strongly evoke various shades of Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Funkadelic, Prince and 60s soul, it would be unfair to pidgeon-hole them under the 'vintage' umbrella, this is truly something fresh.

Just decent.

The best UMO release yet.
I really enjoy this album.
They were finally able to mix that psychedelic 60's low-fi with some pop flavor to make it accessible.
I'm calling that this album will be huge later on . . .
WE WANT THE FUNK!
Really enjoyable. First time I listened to one of their albums but I think I'm hooked now.
