Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.3/100, a mean average of 71.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.8.

Some really nice tunes... it's not a Made in the Dark, though.
This is a family-oriented album in the sense that a lot of songs deal with love of family ("brothers"), friends, family pets ("alley cats") and lovers ("one life stand"). It's a very positive-sounding album, as best stated on their great closing track "take it in": "my heart has flown to you just like a dove / it can fly ... please take my heart and keep it close to you / take it in ...". Recommended if you like: pet shop boys, lcd soundsystem, !!!, phoenix.
I remember last year I listened to this a few times, and then at the end of the year I went to go pull out the singles I wanted, and it turned out it was my fifth most listened to album in 2010. How did this happen? I barely even remember listening to it. But then I went through the songs and found that I really enjoyed over half the tracks. I think it snuck up on me because this is a much more mellow outing than their previous album, which literally told you to put your headphones on in the second track and then made love to your ears for the next hour. This is just as enjoyable, but way more relaxing. Outside of the title track, the other standouts are Thieves in the Night, Brothers, and Take It In. Also of note is the music video for I Feel Better. Seriously, what in the blue hell? Anyway, enjoyable album - thumbs way up.
great great album that everyone should attempt. at least twice.
I enjoyed listening to it but despite all compliments like consistency, bravery of shifting music style or mellow songs, the conclusive point is that there isn't any big deal about the album.
Soul sucking zombie disco music.
