All songs had some potential. I thought I would find a couple bad songs here. Good album, but it can't hold a candle to Led Zeppelin 1, 2, 3, or even Physical Graffiti.

The only Zep album not dominated by Page's compositions and playing. Plant stepped to the plate composition wise and John Paul Jones filled the production and leadership seat. Their most pop album. The guys knew they were due for a break, I do not think anybody expected the break to come in such a drastic manner. As most of you likely know, their drummer John Bonham died shortly thereafter and that was the end of one of the greatest, if not the greatest, rock band ever.

Page was virtually a no-show for this one and, not co-incidentally, the band’s seams are showing. Not really a bad record, though by Zeppelin’s standards a pretty big fall. “Carouselambra” is great, though loosely structured, and “All My Love” is a highlight. Nothing on here is embarrassingly bad (like some of the stuff on Coda); it just doesn’t sound like Zeppelin. They might have had another great album in them if Bonham hadn’t died. We’ll never know.

Not their best effort. But still. It's Zep. Fool in the Rain and All of My Love are great tracks.

A bounce back from the stumble that was Presence. People overlook this album because Led Zeppelin were clearly on the decline after Physical Graffiti... but this is still great work.

For a time I thought Presence was the worst Zeppelin album without question. This, however, is sadly in close competition with it. At least they had a handful of great albums that more than make up for it.

Favorite Track: Fool in the Rain

Why is everyone so down on this album? "All of My Love" was a bit poppy and way overplayed back in '79. However, "In the Evening" and especially "Fool in the Rain" are great tracks. "I'm Gonna Crawl" and "South Bound Suarez" are OK and "Hot Dog" is interesting for Zep. My least favorite track is Carouselambra which is way too long.

A horrid record.

That Led Zepp could stoop so low from so high is a great sadness... This album makes Jesus weep in heaven.
