I just don't get this album, tried it again recently but hasn't changed my opinion. Couple of decent tunes but one of the songs just sounds like Mandy by Barry Manilow.
This one is growing on me. Originally, I brushed it off as a little similar to their first two. Now I'm starting to see what's here. My opinion should change soon...
This album is much darker than I'm used to for The Strokes, but somehow it's a great listen. You really just gotta roll with it and let the music be what it is. I think this is the second best Strokes release and one of their best.
Better than their last. Favs; You only live Once, KIlling Lies, Red light.

pearljammer13 12/13/2011 01:48I love the first half of this album, but not so much the second half. You Only Live Once is one of my favorite songs. Overall its good but too inconsistent to be great.

Never been able to get into this one. You Only Live Once is a great song, but outside of that, it's not very interesting.
The quality of the songs in this album are a little wonky, the quality goes up and down. A couple stinkers, but a couple really good songs too. Gotta love "You Only Live Once".
One of the most under-rated album I've come across,personally prefere the first two Strokes albums but still love this album..
