Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.6/100, a mean average of 75.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

First off, My Sound is flat out brilliant. After listening to Go Plastic, I was somewhat turn off by him. An album I respect but don't enjoy. However, this album right here is miles better. A way more enjoyable experience that meets the crossroads of being weird but also have songs that have groove. Still have a while before I can make a complete list of his work but as of now this is my favorite so far. Will destined to change.
Well that was weird, and not what i was expecting in the slightest. An album released by a notable IDM artist, on the Warp label? Must be IDM right? Wrong. Experimental jazz fusion is what we have here. And while it is quite surprising, that doesn't make it bad. It is in fact one of the more interesting albums I've listened to recently; almost all musical conventions are just done away with. Calling it jazz fusion even seems like a bit of a stretch, as it seems to have very little similarity to any other form of music. Quite unique, quite intriguing.
75/100
A wonderful piece of jazz fusion. Miles would have approved.
