ProfessorSquid 04/08/2013 13:43I have a hard time listening to this without wondering what some of these tunes would have been like if they'd been expanded upon. Many of them are very good just as they are. And I'm sure a lot of this would just have been ruined if it had been cleaned up and fleshed out.
ButterThumbz 11/23/2012 13:23It's a wonder the whole thing doesn't collapse under the sheer weight of ideas. The fact that it sounds like someone keeps spilling beer over the recording equipment and musicians are nodding out mid-session just adds to the mystique.

One of my favorite albums, and if you allow, my favorite EP. Yes, there are 20 tracks, but only songs 3, 8, 13, and 18 are actually complete by the book songs. But ignore that because all of it is a feast for the ears. Somehow here they seem almost distant and show unshielded honesty as they sing the weird lyrics and strange topics - which enable them to not come across too seriously - a flaw that hurts many of their other albums. A must listen.

HaydenThis is for sure Indie rock, and you can tell just by listening to the first few songs. This was a bit before it's time to be honest, and they were a bit shakey on some songs. 'Awful Bliss' & 'I Am A Scientist' are the only songs I care about. Although, i did laugh at 'Kicking Elves':P
