Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 63.7/100, a mean average of 60.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 60.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.5.

A slight change in musical direction which, after a few listens, works for me
I do not believe it's an identity crisis, I think the problem is the publishers and their willingness for easy money!
Jake bugg released the first album at the age of 18 and was a success, obviously there was a pot of gold here to be explored and what happened next? Not even a year later Jake released an album, which although not bad it is noted that it was done in a hurry and of course did not have the intended success. What is the next step? An album full of electronicas (although its main quality is the melodies of its voice and the acoustic guitar), extremely polished, the lot of overludes of voices and refrains of those that are made to pass in all radios ... the result is a weak album, where you can see that Bugg himself is not at ease in these adventures!
Please, Jake, pick up your guitar and do what you know best!
Just no...
I was really excited for this one but ended up just really disappointed. I've been a fan of Jake bugg from the beginning but this album felt like it was having an identity crisis. Probably will give it another chance but either way... No were near the quality of his previous albums. :(
