My favourite band ever and one of the greatest bands of all time. Perhaps the greatest. Should be ranked much higher than they are.

Another newish band building a fine back catalogue. Really like chutes too narrow and wincing the night away. The danger mouse (broken bells) collaboration is pretty good as well.
jhuikJames Mercer is an amazing songwriter, singer and musician. What a stupidly banal thing to say about just another genius who gives so much. Every album is an event.

Good band. I recommend all of their albums, take your pick. Best Shins albums from best to worst are; Chutes Too Narrow, Oh Inverted World, Port of Morrow, and Wincing the Night Away.
"Chutes Too Narrow" was instantly mind-blowing. "Oh, Inverted World" is growing on me too (Caring Is Creepy and New Slang were always awesome).
Another band I have not heard enough of, obviously. Got to start digging sometime.
I'm genuinely overjoyed with how great their discography is. Truly consistent.
