SamuelPear 04/24/2013 16:12I don't dig Deep Purple, good songs/riff but I don't like Gillian voice at all ... and Blackmore guitar style is ... well it's not my style. The organ solos are boring.
I respect this band 'cause of the "legacy" and everything but I can't listen a whole DP album.
junodog4Meh... Not my cup of tea. I find that bands like Deep Purple may have great technique and fantastic bombast, but they get tired really quickly, and have comical lyrics.
Jasonconfused 11/16/2012 23:16One of the best hard rock/ early metal bands. I even consider them a jam band. And if you don't believe me, just listen to Made in Japan. Ian Gillan is my favorite singer of all time, but the stuff with Coverdale and Hughes is incredible as well. Deep Purple is not Deep Purple without Ritchie Blackmore though...
Captain_Dude 07/05/2011 18:26One of the granddaddies of Heavy Metal, Deep Purple has brought us some masterpieces over the years. The band has been through more line-up changes than Lady Ga-Ga goes through costume changes, but they've always put out quality rock. MACHINE HEAD is wonderful, yes. However, for a real sonic treat, put on BURN. The title track is definitely one of the top vocal performances of all time. Glenn Hughes AND David Coverdale...together...how can you NOT be blown away by that?
