Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 3% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 80.6/100, a mean average of 80.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.3/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.2.

An essential component of Glam Rock, bringing a slick, queer-flavoured snarl to the table and delivering tunes that will remain just as frenetic as they were in the 70s for as long as they are played. Marc Bolan, what a f*cking hero.
I never understood the cult fanaticism for this artist. Nothing of particular interest here.
I wanna be a 20th century boy.
The band would have been more successful but they struggled to play guitar with their short upper limbs, ate most of their roadies, and people were too scared to see them in concert
I can't explain why, it must be love.
Electric Warrior was the first album I ever owned it was of course Vinyl and I still have it. During 1971-72 T.Rex ruled the British charts with four No.1 and four No.2 singles and three No.1 albums that was quite an accomplishment back then. Electric Warrior stands alone as a brilliant album but Tanx (1973) and Zinc Alloy (1974) are under rated. As for the pre T.Rex days A Beard of Stars is a great album. Marc Bolan has been an enormous influence to many bands and is still worshiped 36 years after his death.
T. Rex's transformation from strange freak folk into the ultimate glam rocker is a truly fascinating metamorphosis.
This is best glam rock band of all time!
I don't generally like glam rock though. Nonetheless, some really great rock songs(especially if you delve deep into his albums). Personally I find Get It On, his worst song or maybe it's just overplayed. Stuff like Jeepster, 20th Century Boy and Children Of The Revolution are certainly masterpeices however.
One of the best bands ever
Play it loud! This is the definitive band for the glam fan.
