Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 69.8/100, a mean average of 68.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.6/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 21.1.

Horribly overrated purveyor of faux pop rock deck. Not an authentic bone in his body.
Some reason, I don't really like him as a singer, but as a songwriter, he makes excellent pop songs. And whenever someone else sings his songs, it shows how well crafted his songs are.
Adams is a very good songwriter with a number of hits you can hear on classic rock radio at any time. However, I can't help but find him to be incredibly vanilla, even through the often underwhelming classic rock radio lineups.
Run To You is an excellent example of a great Bryan Adams song though, great writing, great hook, and he uses his vocals perfectly. I don't find myself going back to much of his other work though or even wanting to.
Viola - Now, now... don't start making attacks. I know plenty about music, and I'm sure you do too. Of course songwriting is vital, I was implying that to put Bryan Adams in the category you do must mean you don't see the importance of songwriting. My point was that songwriters like John Lennon are light years ahead of Bryan Adams, and that you're deluded comparing them. Bryan Adams writes catchy pop-rock. He's good at it, but they're not epic masterpieces. It's a bit of a stretch to put him on par with Michael Jackson, let alone put him in the Pantheon of songwriting.

Viola - nothing against Bryan Adams... He writes decent, catchy pop-rock. But don't kid yourself - on par with John Lennon...? Either you exaggerated for effect, or you're deluded about the impact of songwriters.
Music is full of artists like Bryan Adams? Are you serious? First of all, his songwriting abilities beat Michael Jackson easily and are on the same level with John Lennon. He wrote countless tracks for other singers. His manner of singing is really unique and year dear, he brought new "note" to Rock music
Not criminally underrated. Decent, simple, pop-rock. Sold a lot of records, but didn't do anything new or dramatic artistically. Music is full of artists like Bryan Adams. Good, but unremarkable.
Bryan is the most criminally underrated artist of the last 30 years. And yet he has managed to yield an amazing body of work. Not in vain he has the record for the longest consecutive weeks at #1 in the UK ('Everything I Do I Do it For You'), and altogheter with Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', the only album to feature 6 US top #15 singles ('Reckless').
Nevermind the numbers and facts, Bryan is one of the few (if not THE) who hasn't changed his voice in 30+ years. All the best singers in rock n' roll history have diminished their voices within no more than 15-20 years, but Bryan is an unique exception. Also, at the time he became famous and after that his music have been unique too. No other band or artist sounded like him back then. No other band or artist sound like him today.
One of the greatest. Along with Rush, best ever artist from Canada.
Good heartland rock.
