Let's get some perspective here. Nickelback play their own instruments, they write their own material, they are unsubtle, derivative and 'in your face'. But they don't rely on computers or auto-tune or sampling and for this reason they are better than a ton of other current 'artists'. Not my favourite band but most of their albums have some good tracks, especially Silver-Side Up. Should not be rated so low. I will admit their later albums go off the boil a bit (lot). Because of this all their albums get unfairly lambasted. An average rating of 30 for this band is an absurd joke. I will admit the only reason I have six Nickelback albums is because they were given to me.......

There's nothing inherently wrong with Nickelback, they are certainly better than many others. It is obviously cool to hate them. Baa Baa I'm a sheep.

They are not the worst band of all time as most would say, but they are pretty damn awful.
Honestly kind of Meh about the band, certainly not as awful as some on here seem to think but certainly not a favorite of mine either.

I think people hate on them just to hate on them. They're seriously not that bad. Sure, a lot of their are extremely generic and lazy, but they have some really good tracks. Not a bad band at all, in my opinion.

Were Nickelback the first ever troll-band? I mean their music is such a joke and such a blatant, unapologetic rip-off of Noughties rock that they may as well be. Still doesn't salvage just how unoriginal and uninteresting this tragic band are.

They're not as bad as they're made out to be. They're still far from great or even good for that matter. That said, they have their highlights, albeit so few of them.
