Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 72.9/100, a mean average of 71.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.3/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.2.

I've decided to make comment about this band due to the nostalgic impact they had on me as teenager. Whilst I moved on fairly quickly from this comic-book style, mythology-driven metal, I can still appreciate the talent that drove their self-confessed single-minded banger music. For a start, Eric Adams has possibly one of the most astonishing voices in any rock format. Second, they had some exceptionally talented musicians. Some of the bass work is frenetically brilliant and the drumming, especially on Triumph of Steel (one-off album for Rhino), is jaw-droppingly powerful. Thirdly, they captured the thematic spirit of medieval battles, and past mythology better than any band I can think of. Unfortunately they let themselves down when they drifted away from this theme and did ridiculous self-parody tracks about 'true metal', 'sex slaves', obnoxious petrol-head tributes, and other such lame rantings. Give yourself over to songs like Heart of Steel, Crown and the Ring, Thor, Battle Hymn, Blood of my Enemies, Dark Avenger, Defender, Mountain, Kingdom Come, Hail and Kill, Master of the Wind, and the epic Achilles, Agony and Ecstacy, and you won't fail to follow them into a fantastical battle. Don't take them seriously, and dont critique them too seriously. It's fun and at their peak, the melodies were catchy and unique.
Turn it up to eleven. Loud and unapologetic. Hard rock for those who enjoy pumping their fist in the air while enjoying a domestic beer in a can.
To me, this is one of the heaviest, strong song writing, most melodic and overwhelmingly POWERFUL Bands Ive ever heard or seen - I understand their inability to be 'ignored' by the charts because of their lack of concern to be accepted by any crossover audience!
They're just great n r successful enough in Europe to allow them to keep putting out GREAT Albums... consistently!
