Oh no, not another one Bob. I've just heard about the forthcoming, Triplicate, album. A three disc set(30 songs) in the same vein as the enjoyable, Shadows in the night, and the not so good, Fallen angels. Come on Bob, one was fine, two, just about bearable, but another one, no, sorry three, that's way too much. If you're not going to write songs anymore Bob, then F#*k off!

No one, not even the Beatles, has this much artistic excellence in quantity. Several dozen albums spanning about the same amount of years has boatloads of great tracks and stellar albums, and he waxes the best poetic of any artist in history over that time, but eventually you gotta wonder just how bloated all of that music becomes even with the high quality immersed within. Quality is better than quantity when it comes to sifting through music, but it's not as though Dylan is particularly bad during his lows—he's just not the best lyricist of all time in those moments.

WOW! Congatulations to Bob for his Nobel Prize! He really deserves it. Nobody like him paid so much attention to lyrics in music. Who knows, maybe they waited for his 75th anniversary to do this? :D

More than just a poet. He may not have the best voice, but he is a great songwriter and lyricist, and the folk music he popularised actually lends itself to the raw and humble sound of his voice. While solo artists such as Nick Drake and Cat Stevens went on to release brilliant folk albums of equally great musical and lyrical quality, but alongside more impressive singing, it was Dylan who opened doors for many of those artists. Best album is Blood On The Tracks, but there are many others which belong among the greatest albums ever released.

The magnitude of Dylan's catalog from '62-76 is unreal. So many legendary albums, songs, lyrics, stories, moments, memories... From there, not everything Dylan offered was as good, but he found his form again in the late 90's.

Overall, the amount of artists in Dylan's league are very few.

I'm always interested in what Dylan did. Even his lesser records are worthwhile, 'cause it's interesting to hear how low a great artist can get. When you fly high, you can fall deep.

One of the greatest lyricist and songwriter ever, songs like Hurricane, Like a Rolling Stone and Blowin'in the Wind are the essence of music.
