Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. I like it
AWOLNATION is a great band on album and in concert. Sure, they're mainstream and have many hits on the radio. But that's okay people, obscure doesn't necessarily equal greatness. Their first album is top-notch but they're second album, Run, is where these guys branch out and take it to the next level. They could have made an album full of "Sail" wannabees but they didn't. The lyrics are more real to his life and thus more relateable to the listener's. I also believe the songs are more layered and complex than the first album. But, with that said, the first album is more accessible. Either way, both albums are great but the second gets ragged on for not sounding like the first. I for one, applaud them for that.
