5 albums and over 12 years and this band has kept my interest and I don't plan on jumping ship. They had a lull after First Impressions and have come back strong with their last two.
First album was great, I played it to death when it was released, but everything since has been a let down.
First time I listened to this band's first album I was so mad at myself for not discovering how awesome they were sooner. Start to finish their first two albums do not have a bad song on them.
I have to say I was pretty disappointed at their third and fourth albums, but maybe I haven't given them enough of a chance. They each got a few hits, but nothing like their first two.

an_outlawWow... that was me calling them 'soul crushing'!!! I shoudld really sort it out, gets things in order.
junodog4I don't understand the negativity... They haven't matched their debut, but they're hardly 'soul-crushing' or 'overrated'. I guess we all have our own opinion... For me, the Strokes are a positive sign that music can regain it's rock foundation in the 21st century.
A quite good band! Plenty of catchy songs. Angles and Is This It are incredible albums, with only one or two bad songs.
Good and potentially great band. Favs; Is this it, Angles, First Impressions...
First album GREAT. After that they're just repeating themselves.
