Love 'em. They really make you work to get the most out of the music. I'm still trying to get my head around the first few albums, but their music is super creative while staying within a rock format. Super underappreciated!

I can't find "apocolypse now" anywhere...does anyone know which album it is on?
Wire...Gang of Four...Pere Ubu. Drop me off on the deserted island with the discographies of these three bands and I'm good to go. Ubu was odd, creative, odd, and in the end...a rock and roll band. Two of the greatest albums ever in Dub Housing and The Modern Dance but not a dud in the bunch. The key is not to get caught up in Crocus Behemoth's (David Thomas') voice. It's an instrument, not a lyric delivery system. Taking that with the textures provided by Peter Laughner's guitar and especially Allen Ravenstine's masterful keyboards and you get probably the most unique band in the universe. And don't forget the rhythm section. Remember, this is a rock and roll band. Brilliant.
The greatest band of all time by a longshot.
