Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Three comments:
1. I guess it's because of "people" like you, that Radiohorn have the top spot on this - very doubtful - overall chart...
2. I was so happy to see Rick Astley on your chartm, mooohahahaha!
3. Why couldn't I give you 0 of 100... the minimum HAS to be FIVE??? This chart doesn't deserve 5 points...

I always enjoy a list that has personality in it. Especially in the face of opposition. Also, fallen is pretty much an insane album.
