Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 3% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.6/100, a mean average of 90.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.9/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.1.

Nice but theres too much great music from the sixties not here.
A lot in common
No Zappa?
surprising based on some of your other selections
Interesting chart, a lot of variation. I haven't really listened much of Coltrane, but A Love Supreme certainly sounds good. So thanks for that, I always have a hard time exploring jazz.
Definitely an interesting chart, love seeing In A Silent Way so high! Such a masterpiece... (maybe check out my charts?)
From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like you're big into the more psychedelic/avant-garde stuff from the 60s but I'll leave a few recommendations anyway!
The 13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds Of ...
The Monks - Black Monk Time
The Mothers of Invention (Zappa's band) - Freak Out!
The Red Crayola - The Parable Of Arable Land
I'm surprised you don't have Notorious Byrd Brothers because you have sweetheart of the rodeo. You like a lot of the same shit I do. And you got a lot of cool stuff that I never even thought of.
Very nice, thoughtful rankings! I have never listened to Eric Dolphy. But, since he appears so high on your list filled with other favorites of mine, I'll just have to give that album some ear-time! :o)
No, I absolutely agree with what you said about '65 to '69 showing a massive change in music. If you ask me, the 'rock 'n' roll' feel of the 50's didn't actually end until around '64, wherein the release of Dylan's '65 albums 'Bringing It All Back Home', and then 'Highway 61 Revisited' really began the 60's counter-cultural movement - not to mention the remarkable, even greater spark of influence the Beatles then had - seemingly opening the flood gates for all the other artists, as it were: Hendrix, Beach Boys, Doors, Zeppelin; countless others. Elvis may have marked the point when the development of music was born, but the 60's, without doubt, were its adolescence.
Great chart! Very insightful. P.s Sorry for the long comment lol.
Brilliant. Not for the first time.
Geez dude. We have 66 albums in common. Fantastic chart!
