A supersonic blast of a debut. Oasis always had their own way to perform their songs, even if the songs didn't always completely belong to them. On this one, the performances are extra great and the punk touch Oasis maintained through their whole career is extra distinct. No need to argue, it's just rock 'n' roll!

Overheated coke-paradise. "All Around the World" is so long that one might wonder if it's a joke or just Oasis that have completely lost the plot. Either way, I love its exaggerated layer upon layer composition. The whole album is overwhelming, but in a good way.

A champagne supernova of an album crammed with some of the biggest anthems of the 90s. "Champagne Supernova" made me go Oasismaniac and buy all their albums. On a less positive note, I think we all can say by now that we've heard "Wonderwall"! In order to fully appreciate this album, don't look back in anger and just roll with it.

Oasis redefining themselves after "Be Here Now" brought them out of fame. Much contrary to their idols, they incorporate multiple electronic elements to the music. Mellower and riskier than previous albums, it's regarded as one of their weakest efforts, but actually holds a lot of quality with many overlooked gems. Sadly, it could've been even better had either "Little James" or "I Can See a Liar" been replaced with what's possibly my favourite Oasis song, the B-side to "Go Let It Out", "Let's Make Believe".

Dig out your soul with this psychedelic and quite heavy Oasis album. It showed great promise for future Oasis releases, but it seemed that they were outta time and that Liam and Noel had had it with each other. A shame, because it's no doubt the most interesting Oasis album since "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants"!

The heathen chemistry of the band comes across on yet another Oasis album. After the electronic departure of the last album, Oasis decided to pick up the guitars again, for better and for worse! Some typical guitar-oriented meandering, but also some freshly new psychedelic sounds, a huge anthem in "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" and the lovely Beatlesque folk rocker of "Songbird".

Noel declares the death of him and brother Liam Gallagher as musical partners and shows once for all that he was the band's greatest songwriter and could do well all by himself. Mellower than any Oasis album, Noel really dreams on with gorgeous arrangements and dreamy ballads. A high flying solo debut that only contains strong tracks!

Oasis, just with different gear. Actually, it's the exact same gear as Oasis, just with one main songwriter less. However, they're still speeding, at least it sounds more inspired than some of the latest Oasis releases. Not much has changed though, Beatles and Stones are still the the main inspiration, but the beat still goes on, in a surprisingly strong way!

Don't believe the truth, instead keep the dream alive! That's what Oasis did with this album, a mellower and dreamier round for Oasis. "Mucky Fingers" is a folk rock-influenced "I'm Waiting for the Man"-type song, a true gem.

Oasis' masterplan was apparently to release great non-album B sides and include often not quite as good songs on their albums instead. Yes, there are quite a few gems on this one. Calling it a masterpiece up there with the first two Oasis albums is an exaggeration, but a good collection of songs nonetheless.
