Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 4% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.1/100, a mean average of 90.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 10.8.

m'back! dude, i love this chart.
Interesting chart but too much from the 2000's onwards. I like your chart but I would like to see more stuff from other decades.
hey i like this chart. lots of good stuff that you don't get to see on people's charts too often. much love for most of these albums too. AND a healthy reminder that i NEED to listen to Emeralds. been on my list for a while.
Cool electronic chart!
The inclusion of Seek Magic immediately makes this one of my favorite charts here.
I'm vibing that you are no stranger to Pitchfork. Haha, just kidding, you have an excellent and interesting list. I'm happy to add it to my favourites.
Awesome stuff. I love Four Tet and Washed Out so I'll have to check out some of these other ones I haven't listened to.
Not sure I've left a comment before but eh
This is really, *really* good and not really fussed about the weight towards 2010s because it justifies it. Love the R&B picks, you should try James Ferraro's "NYC, Hell 3:00AM", very odd alt R&B record that gets me everyy time. yeah this is really great, though the genre tags can be a little "huh"
@Antonio-Pedro:
pom pom is just a hoot, a bit of silly fun :-D
And you're right regarding liking more uptempo music. Singer-songwritery quiet stuff doesn't do a lot for me, it has to be said. :-P
wow How could I never come to this before? maybe something about destiny and blah blah blah... This is really cool and is that o.o pom pom yay! Fun fact when I think of a modern thing I always Imagine it with lots of light-bulbs, and this chart feels like you're dancing to all of it haha, now I see you as a person with a lightbulb shirt dancing out there with any of these albums, Well it could be led because led is cool and all colorful haha, Lovable chart
