Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by Ottokar
"The long and winding road ..." would serve well as a motto for my chart.
You will find The Beatles as well as some punk rock.
To have the ultimate diversity in my chart I decided to have only one record per artist, and so my Top 100 consists of 100 different bands/artists.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 12% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.6/100, a mean average of 88.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.1/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.2.

I like it - you've done well to go with 1 album per artist! Good diversity, with some lesser known albums in there importantly mixed with the ultimate classics.
Good chart.
Cool chart ~ perhaps too much UK based music, but nice to see a couple of albums from south of the equator.
On this day when David Crosby departed planet Earth, it was nice to see CSNY's 'Deja Vu' in the chart - even if at #100.
I have mixed emotions about this chart. On the one hand, it has some rarely-seen artists (Japan, Godley and Creme, even Thomas Dolby and Manfred Mann could qualify as that), some uncommon but outstanding albums like ‘Miss America’, and as ‘Boltzmann’ said it is difficult to classify.
On the other hand, there is much familiar “alternative” music that I find underserving. Nirvana, Oasis, Green Day, the Sex Pistols, the Verve, Arcade Fire, and even ‘Peter Gabriel’ (IV) fit into this category.
Additionally, even with a one-album limit there are artists (Goldey and Creme, David Sylvian, Peter Gabriel) who clearly cheat that rule – something I have a bone with because if you limit the number of albums per artist this should logically apply equally to individual musicians.
Hell yeah, great chart! Love your number one choice.
Not exactly the MOST diverse chart I’ve ever seen, but I cannot categorize your taste so easily (especially when I dive deeper in your chart and find a lot of trip hop albums), which is a good thing. And it doesn’t look like you copied Rolling Stone or Pitchfork; I see personality in this chart. The more modern picks are not REALLY modern, but that’s okay, that’s just not where your taste lies apparently.
I don't know what it is but there's something alluring about this chart ... would love to see you elaborate on why you love these albums more!!
the lamb at 1 makes this an automatic 100
Pretty good! Although, you made the wrong choice choosing Hunky Dory over Low... :)
Any chart with Gone To Earth in it is alright with me
